Transactional Attorney

DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 11 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 70 renewable energy projects in 24 states. About the role DESRI seeks a talented and highly motivated individual to join the team as a transactional attorney. This attorney will be part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of solar, battery and wind projects within a fast-paced environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail. What you'll do You’ll be responsible for advising DESRI on a wide range of transactions including project acquisitions and dispositions, financings, and other transactional matters throughout a project’s lifecycle. You’ll counsel the team directly, including drafting and negotiating documents, while also supervising outside counsel when necessary. Qualifications Candidates should have an impressive record of academic achievement and at least three years of corporate law/transactional experience, including managing deals and advising clients directly. Excellent analytical abilities, superb communication and organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail are all essential, as is a deep interest in exploring and mastering new areas of the law. Outstanding judgment is of great importance, as is a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in support of highly complex transactions.
