RN Med Surg Telemetry

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surgical Telemetry unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in a 50-bed intermediate care setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, telemetry monitoring, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes. The nurse must have at least 2 years of relevant experience and be proficient in telemetry care. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs, including telemetry data.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in medical records.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Massachusetts.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in Med/Surgical or Telemetry units.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and intermediate care nursing.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and reliable automobile for field work if applicable.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working within a hospital system or multi-facility healthcare network.
• Additional certifications related to telemetry or critical care nursing.
• Previous experience with electronic medical records and documentation systems.

Special Considerations:

• Must be located outside a 90-mile radius from the facility.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Med/Surgical Telemetry/Intermediate Care environment.
• Compliance with agency and facility staffing licensing and insurance requirements.
• May require signing agreements related to vendor and staffing compliance.

Scheduling:

• Available to work either 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs and staffing requirements.
