Digital Marketing & SEO Specialist

**Contract Type:** Independent contractor / freelance

**Estimated Workload:** Approximately 8 hours per month per client when the client is enrolled in both Google Ads management and SEO/website maintenance. Hours may vary by client and are not guaranteed.

**Current Need:** This role may begin with a limited number of client accounts and expand as new clients are added. Slated Strategies is actively marketing to grow this service line, with a goal of adding up to six new clients this year.

### **Overview**

Slated Strategies is seeking a hands-on Freelance Digital Marketing & SEO Specialist to support website optimization, SEO, Google Ads campaign execution, website maintenance, and performance reporting for plastic surgery and aesthetics clients.

This is a contractor role for someone who can step in as client work becomes available. The ideal person is comfortable working independently, managing assigned tasks efficiently, and supporting client accounts on a flexible monthly basis.

This role combines SEO strategy, SEO copywriting, technical website updates, Google Ads support, and performance reporting. WordPress editing experience is important, including the ability to make content updates directly in WordPress without relying on a developer for basic changes.

### **Key Responsibilities**

#### **SEO Strategy & Copywriting**

* Conduct keyword research and develop SEO content recommendations
* Write and optimize meta titles, meta descriptions, H1/H2 headings, image alt tags, and page content
* Edit and publish content directly within WordPress
* Implement on-page SEO best practices across assigned pages
* Monitor search performance and recommend adjustments
* Support local SEO efforts when assigned

#### **Website Optimization & Maintenance**

* Make front-end content edits in WordPress using themes and builders such as Astra, Spectra, Brizy, Kadence, Bricks, or similar tools
* Optimize page structure, internal linking, images, and media for SEO and user experience
* Provide feedback on site layout and usability to improve engagement and conversions
* Coordinate with the owner, designers, developers, or other contractors when needed
* Report website issues such as broken pages, failed forms, slow load times, tracking issues, or plugin concerns

#### **Google Ads & Digital Advertising**

* Build, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns
* Set up campaign targeting, budgets, keywords, ad groups, ads, and A/B tests
* Monitor performance and provide recommendations for improvement
* Support conversion tracking and campaign reporting
* Experience with Meta Ads or other paid social platforms is helpful but not required unless assigned by project

#### **Analytics & Performance Tracking**

* Set up and manage GA4 and Google Tag Manager when assigned
* Create and maintain event tracking, including clicks, video plays, form submissions, and other conversion actions
* Track performance of SEO and ad efforts across assigned platforms
* Produce monthly reports with actionable insights in Data Studio or another approved reporting tool

#### **Preferred, Not Required**

* Experience working with plastic surgery, aesthetics, medical, wellness, or local service brands
* Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign
* Understanding of marketing automation and funnel strategy
* Experience with local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
* Experience with landing page optimization for lead generation

### **Required Skills**

* Strong knowledge of on-page SEO
* Experience writing SEO-optimized content and metadata
* Hands-on WordPress editing experience
* Proficiency with Google Ads, GA4, and Google Tag Manager
* Ability to interpret performance data and turn it into clear recommendations
* Understanding of UX principles and how they influence SEO and conversions
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Comfortable with flexible, project-based work

* Can take direction without needing daily supervision
* Is available for recurring monthly client work as accounts are added
* Understands that hours may vary depending on client volume and scope
* Can provide invoices and appropriate contractor tax documentation
