Steel Roll-Forming Line Lead (Omega Profiles & Round Tube)

Location: Minova – Tooele, UT
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

You start by reviewing the production schedule and the control plan, setting the pace for the shift. You validate machine settings on the roll-forming line for steel omega profiles and round pipe, and make sure the team understands the day’s targets. Throughout the shift, you log OEE with accurate times, production counts, and any incidents in the reporting application. You coordinate and perform MIG welding of flat steel using a welding gun, manage steel tooling (shears, cutting saws, grinding wheels), and move material with forklifts and overhead cranes.

When supervisors or shift leaders are away, you escalate and report workshop incidents, keep the line running to plan, and help others hit their numbers. You apply stop-work authority if hazards appear, uphold Minova’s SHE&S standards, and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents. Your leadership on the line helps the team achieve the production program with budgeted OEE and performance.

• Execute the production plan in line with established priorities.
• Capture OEE accurately (time, output, incidents) in the designated system.
• Follow the control plan to maintain manufacturing quality.
• Drive the roll-form line to meet schedule, OEE, and performance goals.
• Coach and train operators to reach line targets.
• Report workshop incidents when supervisors/shift leaders are unavailable.
• Exercise stop-work authority when hazards are identified.
• Comply with safety protocols and prevent accidents and injuries.
• Maintain a workplace that meets Minova SHE&S standards.
• Promptly report unsafe conditions and any incidents.

• 2 years of vocational/technical training in mechanics/manufacturing, or an associate degree in roll forming/mechanics/manufacturing (or equivalent).
• 5 years of experience in welded tube roll forming as a machine operator or in the steel manufacturing industry.

• Operating roll-forming processes for steel omega profiles and round pipes.
• MIG welding of flat steel with a welding gun.
• Proficient with steel tooling: shears, cutting saws, grinding wheels.
• Forklift and overhead crane operation.

• Knowledge of hydraulic groups, hydraulic pumps, and hydraulic pistons.
• Pneumatics: cylinders, EV, valves, regulators, and manifolds.
• Bearings (balls and cylinders): maintenance and replacement.
• TPM first level: lubrication, first-level maintenance, filter changes, oiling.
• Disk cutting saws and cutting disks.

• Roll changes and maintenance routines.
• Coolant circuits and pumps.
• Common steel metal operations: stamping, cutting, bending.
• Preventive maintenance for roll-form lines, LOTO, and safety protocols.
• OEE manufacturing reporting.
