Ucore is a TSX-listed company commercializing its patent-pending RapidSX™ rare earth element (REE) separation technology through the advancement of its first commercial REE processing and rare earth oxide (REO) production facility in Alexandria, Louisiana. This facility, the Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex (SMC), is currently under development with engineering underway as of August 2026. Ucore also continues to enhance and demonstrate its technology at its RapidSX™ Commercialization and Demonstration Facility (CDF) in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

The company consists of a small team, with resources located globally and seeks to appoint a Maintenance Supervisor to join its team. This role will contribute to leading the implementation of corporate initiatives. Regular travel within the USA and Canada will be required.

The Maintenance Supervisor, reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, will work independently and with other plant personnel leading a team of multi-craft technicians to supervise and lead preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. This role will trouble shoot issues, coordinate repair of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Selected candidates will also be involved with equipment installations, startup and the commissioning of manufacturing and facilities equipment. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the organization.

Maintenance Supervisor: The role will be based in Alexandria, Louisiana, with frequent travel to Kingston, Ontario.

Primary Responsibilities

1) Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance technicians; assign daily work and shift priorities.

2) Process Maintenance: Oversight of the efficient operations of pumps, piping, agitators, RapidSX, and specialized solvent extraction (SX) circuit hardware including support equipment.

3) Preventive Programs: Run Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to execute routine asset care and minimize production downtime with a goal of greater than 95% availability.

4) Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA, EPA, and hazardous material protocols given the flammable and chemical risks of solvent environments.

5) Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with operations and production teams to complete work orders and manage critical path repairs during plant shutdowns.

6) Equipment Maintenance: Provide support to the manufacturing processes by trouble shooting and coordinating repairs of industrial equipment including electrical components, motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, compressors, chillers, scrubbers, kilns, distilling units and boilers.

7) Preventative Maintenance: Coordinate preventative maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Maintain spare parts inventory and provide oversight of the procurement of parts and materials.

8) Other: Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Requirements

1) Five (5) years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with a minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role. Service in Naval Nuclear Power Program with preference to NEC's 3366 and 3356 is considered a plus.

2) Ability to read, interpret and analyze electrical/mechanical schematics, block diagrams, and flow charts.

3) Extensive knowledge and troubleshooting skills of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and controls systems. Prior experience troubleshooting PLC control systems; Allen Bradley preferred.

4) Experience managing a maintenance team using CMMS.

5) Ability to identify and diagnose problems and implement corrective action.

6) Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office applications and other computer programs.

7) Knowledge of chemical processes.

8) Knowledge of company safety, OSHA and department policies and procedures including Lock Out Tag Out

9) Demonstrated applied interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

10) Ability to be self-motivated.

Desired Requirements

1. Experience with the chemistry of solvent extraction and rare earth element processing.

2. Experience implementing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 in a manufacturing/plant environment.

3) Ability to read, interpret and analyze electrical/mechanical schematics, block diagrams, and flow charts.

4) Possess basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.

5) Possess extensive electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.

6) Must be computer literate and understand PLC principles.

7) Experience with operational chemistry a plus.

8) Have demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of HAZMAT, MSDS, EPA, and OSHA requirements.

9) Experience developing preventive maintenance plans and work procedures. Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.

10) Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with production staff.

Ability to read, write and understand sufficient English to read machinery controls, load types, temperature, time, etc. and coordinate activities between departments and external organizations. Must be self-motivated.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to travel. Ability to respond to emergency callouts outside normal working hours. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout a plant environment. Ability to climb stairs, platforms, and access elevated or restricted areas. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed for inspections. Ability to visually inspect equipment, systems, drawings, gauges, and work areas. Ability to hear alarms, equipment sounds, and communications in a noisy environment. Ability to work safely around machinery, dust, noise, vibration, and temperature extremes. Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all plant safety requirements.
