Estimating Manager

Expected Salary Range : $113,900.80 - $180,000.00 About the Role Jaquith Consulting Group, Inc. (JCG) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Estimating Manager to lead and actively engage in all estimating activities for JCG’s clients. Under the direction of the Program Controls Deputy Director, you will oversee the Program Estimating Unit within the Project Controls Office, serving as a key contributor to program-wide cost development from planning and conceptual phases through final design and construction. You will lead estimate development activities, prepare Basis of Estimate documentation, review contractor estimates and claims, and help establish policies and procedures that strengthen estimating consistency and transparency across the program. Your work will play a critical role in maintaining cost integrity, supporting informed decisions, and enabling successful delivery of complex, large-scale infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Manage the cost estimating group in the development of all capital cost estimates for the Client from planning conceptual level to final design and construction cost estimates Facilitate the development of information used to develop cost estimates with all internal and external stakeholders Support the development of the bi-annual Programmatic Business Plan capital cost estimates, Program Baselines and Project Update Reports Develop Estimate Development Plans and Basis of Estimate reports as required Support the review of contractor estimates and claims Develop policies and procedures for programmatic cost estimating Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or Quantity Surveying At least 20 years of estimating experience, including a minimum of 10 years in transit projects with typical project values exceeding $1 billion In-depth knowledge of all design and construction disciplines, means, and methods applied to transit infrastructure projects Extensive expertise in the principles and practices of estimating Strong technical and report writing skills, particularly in preparing cost estimates and Basis of Estimate documentation Proven ability to develop and manage resources (internal and external) to produce accurate cost estimates in a schedule-driven program environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management or Quantity Surveying and at least 20+ years of estimating experience with minimum 10 years in transit work with typical project size over $10 Billion Professional certification as cost estimator and/or engineer Management experience on large programs with proven track record Experience in database driven estimating software (Timberline, Heavy Bid) as well as electronic quantity surveying system What Makes You a Great Fit Strong collaboration and communication skills Knowledge in transportation and rail systems domain Technical knowledge of design, construction means and methods, and cost estimating best practices Extensive estimating expertise for large transit or infrastructure programs Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan, profit sharing Paid holidays Jaquith Consulting Group is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for employment without regard to any legally protected characteristics. #J-18808-Ljbffr
