Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
• Manage a patient population with diagnoses including Med/Surg, Telemetry, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, DVT, and PE
• Perform and assist with special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drip management
• Collaborate with integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support teams to facilitate patient recovery
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas where documented competencies have been established
• Complete required pre-assignment modules and testing within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate (Compact) RN license — no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in an orthopedic or Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Willingness to work every other weekend (approximately 6 weekend shifts per contract)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-surgical orthopedic spine patients including spinal fusion and discectomy cases
• Familiarity with integrated pain management protocols and mobility support in an orthopedic setting
• Prior travel nursing experience accepted — first-time travelers welcome
