About the Role:

The Day Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of commercial or public facilities during daytime hours. This position ensures that all common areas, restrooms, and entryways are clean, well-stocked, and presentable to visitors, employees, and clients. The Day Porter is responsible for promptly addressing any maintenance or cleanliness issues that arise throughout the day, contributing to a positive and professional environment. By performing routine cleaning tasks and minor maintenance duties, the Day Porter supports the facility management team in upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter services preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with a commitment to safety protocols.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in commercial or office building environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and procedures.
• Basic maintenance skills such as minor repairs or equipment handling.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of restrooms, including replenishing supplies and addressing any issues promptly.
• Monitor and restock supplies in common areas to ensure availability throughout the day.
• Respond quickly to spills, debris, or other hazards to maintain a safe environment for all building users.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, reporting repair needs, and setting up or rearranging furniture as needed.
• Communicate effectively with facility management and other staff to coordinate cleaning schedules and address any concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations while performing duties.
