Associate IV, Growth & Strategy

Job Description As an Associate IV on the Growth & Strategy team, you will shape and execute X-energy’s corporate strategy. You will identify and evaluate new markets, strategic partnerships, potential acquisitions, and business initiatives that define the company’s future. You will tackle complex cross‑functional problems, translating between engineering, commercial, and financial perspectives to drive decisions and deliver measurable impact. Key Responsibilities Drive analysis to contribute to corporate development opportunities and strategy related to new business ventures, customer‑facing service lines, capital formation, M&A, and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to surface solutions and execution plans that improve cost, schedule, and technical or commercial viability of projects. Lead distinct scopes of company‑wide strategy development, creating presentations and analysis that improve operations and align with long‑term goals. Own the development and evolution of financial models across a portfolio of infrastructure and energy investments. Support senior leadership in preparing presentations and materials for executive, board, and investor meetings. Support team members in executing core tasks and sharing industry best practices. Build executive‑level financial models in Excel and concise PowerPoint presentations. Present, defend, and explain models to executives, engineers, and commercial teams. Develop business cases, respond to RFIs, and structure deals including financing and off‑take components. Continuously improve tools, templates, and processes to increase modeling quality and efficiency. Maintain a professional demeanor in all communication. Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field. Typically ten years of experience in investment banking, project finance, consulting, infrastructure, private equity, or a capital‑intensive operating company. Optional MBA (preferred but not required) with related strategy, finance, or business roles. Experience developing cogent executive and board‑level presentation decks. Strong PowerPoint and Excel modeling skills, including sensitivity analysis and model design. Experience with strategy development, market and competitor analysis, opportunity identification, business‑case development, and evaluation. Experience simplifying complex financial insights and communicating clearly with any audience. Experience communicating with executive leaders. Location & Work Site 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD Work Site Expectations: 5 days in office. Travel Expectations: 10% (as needed for project assignments). Hours: 8:00am ET – 5:00pm ET, Monday‑Friday. Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary range: $150,000–$170,000 (range may vary by location and other factors).
