Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and Siemens equipment proficiency.

Details

• Acute care teaching hospital setting within the CT Tech unit
• Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation and certified stroke center status
• 3x12 hour evening shifts, Friday-Sunday, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM with possible +/- 2 hour variation based on department needs
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to float to a nearby Carilion Clinic location approximately half a mile away
• Uses Siemens CT equipment and Epic charting system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
• BLS, ARRT(R), and ARRT(CT) certifications required
• Active Virginia state license required; license required if applicable, with emergency authorization available while permanent VA license processes
• Epic and Siemens experience required
• Skilled in preparation and administration of contrast media
• Knowledge of radiation safety protocols
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform CT imaging across abdomen/pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, and musculoskeletal studies with and without contrast
• Experience with 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, and region of interest measurement preferred
• Special procedures may include biopsies, aspirations, drainage, CTA, coronary calcium scoring, and myelography preferred
• Works across adult and pediatric acute care, outpatient, ICU, and emergency department settings
• Holiday coverage required, including at least one holiday per assignment and two during winter holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
• Facility may call off up to one shift per two weeks
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront with candidate profile
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous employees must have a minimum one-year gap before returning as a traveler, subject to facility separation policy
