Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring telemetry proficiency, Level I trauma experience, and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU (MCICU Med/CORICU) at a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment with every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:2 on days
• Patient population is 70% medical (sepsis, PNA, ARDS, organ failure, DKA) and 30% cardiology (heart failure, post arrest, arrhythmias)
• Required to float within scope to other ICU units and boarder areas as needed
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling available
• Uses Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication management

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required, with solid MICU background
• Level I and Level II trauma experience required
• Must pass a telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management exam
• Proficiency required in ventilator management, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Required skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, chest tube assistance, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, CRRT/CVVHD, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV insulin protocols
• Preferred skills include IV starts, ICP monitoring, PA line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Impella, IABP, and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun experience
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services to a mixed medical and cardiology ICU patient population
• Solid color scrubs permitted; light blue scrubs also provided on unit
• Minimal RTO accommodated; no RTO permitted during the first two weeks or orientation week
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• Experienced first-time travelers may be considered upon manager screening
