Fleet Manager

JOB SUMMARY:Manage a team of drivers, engage with your drivers individually to drive maximum utilization, best in class service numbers, and the highest level of safety.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Work with planning team to drive best utilization of your fleet, driving miles, and revenueEnsure driver shift is covered in the event of an absence or call-offEnsure drivers are taking the correct routes. Toll-avoid managementOnboarding new drivers with all things to ensure a successful start upManage driver fleet expectations to ensure the best in class service numbers and to meet driver activity, utilization, and retention goalsEnsure drivers have fully utilized hours and accurate load data to prevent delaysReport and work through any service issues with customer service and planning teamsEnsure randoms are completed by the 20th of every month, performance entries and safety coaching/training are completed on timeResponsible for ensuring the driver is complying with the following: physicals, ETP, Driver’s licenseComplete Non-returning dispatches each dayTruck PM’s-coordinating the drop and pickup of trucks for serviceEnsure drivers meet HOS requirements and maintain accurate ETA’s and ready timesAssist the Asset team with managing truck and trailersUnderstand customer procedures with Haz-mat, weight restrictions, claims, cargo, detention and securityComplete the AM & PM check call process thoroughly and on-time daily, within 3 hours of scheduled start time for AM check calls and complete PM check calls before leaving for the dayConduct annual driver performance reviewsProactively support the organization’s goals and objectivesThe ability to work well in a team environment is essential.
