Job Summary A Radiology Technician (Radiologic Technologist) performs diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, using ionizing radiation while ensuring patient safety (ALARA standards). Responsibilities Perform X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other diagnostic images while applying ionizing radiation safety protocols (ALARA). Prepare, transfer, and position patients, ensuring modesty and comfort. Operate, calibrate, and maintain imaging equipment, including Computed Radiology (CR) units and ensuring proper shielding. Select appropriate exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Accurately update patient records and clinical history in systems like MEDITECH. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Minimum 1 year of experience required. Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. State-specific license (e.g., Florida Department of Health CRT licensure). American Heart Association BLS certification required. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Frequent standing, walking, and bending. Must be able to assist in lifting and transferring patients.
