Quality Inspector

Quality InspectorWe are hiring a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to help ensure fresh vegetables and produce meet quality, food safety, customer, and regulatory requirements.This position is responsible for inspecting incoming shipments, monitoring product throughout inventory, performing outbound quality checks, and documenting inspection results. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Experience with produce, food distribution, quality control, or food safety is highly preferred.ResponsibilitiesVisually inspect incoming loads of vegetables and produce for quality and conditionPerform quality inspections on outbound shipments before they leave the facilityComplete accurate QC inspection reports for incoming loads and other required inspectionsAssess inventory and categorize products based on quality, condition, and usabilityIdentify damaged, distressed, or non-conforming productCommunicate product quality concerns with the appropriate internal teamsAssist with decisions regarding the disposition of damaged or questionable productPlace products on hold or quarantine when necessary and release product when approvedConduct outgoing quality checks and review inspections completed by shipping personnelInspect finished products and packaging to ensure they meet established quality standardsMaintain accurate inspection records and documentationCommunicate quality issues clearly to supervisors and other departmentsFollow all GMP, food safety, health and safety, and company proceduresMaintain confidentiality of company and personnel informationPerform other quality control duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAt least 1 year of quality inspection, produce inspection, food quality, or related experience preferredProduce, food distribution, agriculture, or refrigerated warehouse experience is a plusKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety principlesBasic understanding of fresh fruit and vegetable quality standards and labeling requirements preferredBasic computer skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood time-management and organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to identify quality issues and communicate them effectivelyAbility to work independently while also supporting a teamComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a refrigerated warehouse environment, generally 45–55°FWarehouse may be noisy due to packaging equipment and forklift trafficFrequent standing and walking throughout the facilityRegular bending, twisting, reaching, and handling of products or packagingAbility to regularly lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Must have sufficient visual ability to inspect produce, packaging, and product conditionSchedule may vary based on business needs, so flexibility is required
