FRONT OF HOUSE LEAD SUPERVISOR (FULL AND PART TIME)

We have an opening for full- and part-time FRONT OF HOUSE LEAD SUPERVISOR positions at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225). Online applications only. Requirements: 2+ years in a high-end or fine dining restaurant, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role. Deep understanding of upscale dining service standards, including table‑side etiquette, wine and beverage service, and menu presentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead, train, and motivate a team. Key Responsibilities Service Coordination: collaborate with restaurant management to execute the daily service plan, align staffing, floor operations, and guest experience goals. Guest Experience & Hospitality: engage guests with personalized recommendations, demonstrating knowledge of the Gardens and Longwood Programming. Pre‑Service Organization: coordinate seating strategies, floor plans, and dining room configurations with the Restaurant Manager and Host team based on reservations and anticipated flow. Culinary Communication: liaise with the culinary team for menu changes, dish components, dietary notes, and presentation standards, and communicate clearly to the FOH staff. Team Leadership & Oversight: organize daily station assignments, ensure coverage, facilitate breaks, and oversee sidework and setup/breakdown procedures. Maintain a visible and supportive presence in the dining room throughout service. Perks: eligible for tips. Additional Responsibilities Perform inventory management to maintain high valuation and minimize waste. Ensure staff is on task, quality standards are met, and the operation is clean and organized. Monitor marketing signage to confirm it is current and appropriate. Uphold policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with company and client expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Pay $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. Eligible for tips.
