Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU, Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN License required Description: 25-bed facility seeking an RN for Med-Surg/PCU. Candidate must be experienced in all areas and willing to flex between departments as needed. Looking for candidates who are willing and able to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal time off requests. Identifies patients' and significant others' needs for education and provides appropriate education. Provides for patient safety through preventative measures such as side rails, restraints, and safe use of equipment. Follows restraint policy correctly and evaluates and documents as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of safe operation of all equipment in the PCU/Telemetry/Med-Surg areas. Aware of troubleshooting techniques and follows procedures for repair of essential equipment. Able to access equipment manuals as needed. Implements infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation. Utilizes standard precautions at all times. Maintains complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts. Documents charges accurately. Ensures accuracy and timely completion of physicians' orders. Completes a 24-hour check of orders as per assigned shift duties. Gives a complete and accurate change of shift report to oncoming staff. Communicates with other departments completely and accurately. Reports critical lab values to physicians in a timely manner according to policy. Maintains and restocks emergency carts, room, and general supplies. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
