Position Summary Staff Audiologist (FGP) – Manhattan, Otolaryngology, Per Diem. Under general medical direction with broad latitude for independent action, performs highly technical professional work and is responsible for the planning, administration, direction, and control of a hearing therapy program in a major hospital or healthcare service. Job Responsibilities Provide full spectrum diagnostic audiology testing to all patient referrals. Dispense and fit hearing aid devices. Assess patient hearing using behavioral and electrophysiological measures (air/bone conduction, speech reception and discrimination, otoacoustic emissions, immittance testing, ABR). Evaluate, fit, and dispense amplification devices; provide counseling and training on device use. Document all information in patient chart and prepare written reports. Communicate findings to referring physicians and other care professionals. Ensure patient follow-up for services as needed. Perform related audiology duties as required. Complete and follow all department and medical center policies and requirements. Participate actively in clinical trials when appropriate. Provide supervision and mentoring to staff audiologists, students, or CFY. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and a professional demeanor at all times. Perform any additional duties assigned by department leadership. Apply the seven principles of behavior to ensure service excellence. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety guidelines. Identify and report equipment performance issues when patterns emerge in patient populations. Minimum Qualifications Doctorate in Audiology (or completion of all but dissertation), or Doctorate in a related field (Speech and/or Hearing Science) with at least 2 years of full‑time clinical experience within the past 10 years, or Master’s in Audiology with 300 hours of supervised clinical experience and 4 years of full‑time experience, at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Minimum of 1 year of full‑time paid clinical experience within the last 10 years for Doctorate holders; 2 years for related field; 4 years for Master’s holders. New York State Audiology License required; New York State Hearing Aid Dispensing License preferred. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and take initiative to improve office operations. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to apply common sense and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. Preferred Qualifications None.
