Registered Nurse – NICU (Level II) – Night ShiftLocation: Oshkosh, WI 54904 Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights (7p–7a) | 36 hrs/week Type: Crisis Rate | Contractor | OnsiteAbout the FacilityAurora Medical Center Oshkosh is a Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU serving neonates 32+ weeks. The facility is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center, features 72 licensed beds, and requires COVID vaccination. Scrubs and parking are provided onsite.Unit Overview – NICULevel II NICU with 7 bedsPatient population includes: Neonates 32 weeks+No long-term vents (?24 hrs only)Feeder/growersJaundiceIV antibioticsNAS infants (ESC model, morphine weaning)Ratios: 1:2–3Support staff: Shared CNA with L&D24/7 RTNeonatologist on call 24/7NNP onsite some days (moving to 24/7)Centralized tele monitoringPosition SummaryThe NICU RN will provide specialized nursing care for premature and high-risk neonates in a Level II setting. The ideal nurse brings 3+ years of NICU experience with preference for Level III experience. Must be comfortable stabilizing neonates, attending high-risk deliveries, and coordinating care with NNPs, neonatologists, and the L&D team.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver evidence-based nursing care to neonates 32 weeks+ in a Level II NICU.Manage neonates requiring short-term ventilation.Provide NAS care using Eat-Sleep-Console model and manage morphine titration/weaning.Attend C-sections and high-risk deliveries (twins, VBAC, complications).Perform neonatal stabilization and prepare for transfer when needed.Administer medications, initiate/maintain IV lines, and monitor vital signs & labs.Collaborate with neonatologists, NNPs, RT team, and L&D staff.Document thoroughly using EPIC; utilize Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication systems.Float to postpartum as needed.Maintain infection control protocols and proper PPE use.Required Experience & SkillsMinimum 3 years NICU RN experienceLevel III NICU experience strongly preferredExperience with: Vent management (short-term)Neonatal linesNAS care & ESC modelDelivery attendanceStabilize-and-ship protocolsCertifications (Required)BLSNRPSTABLE (preferred, not required)Additional DetailsInterview: Required (SimpliFi Clinical)Floating: Postpartum as neededOn-call: NoneWeekend Rotation: Every other weekendHolidays: As neededOrientation: Minimum 1 shift to learn workflowTime Off: Up to 7 days approved
