Description:
This position involves caring for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
Travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team with expectations to remain on-site during emergency events.
Specific pay details during emergencies will be communicated as needed.
Candidates must be comfortable with the responsibilities associated with these events.
Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
There is a call requirement, occurring every third weekend, typically on a volunteer basis.
Holidays are included in the call schedule.
Patient ratios can go up to 1:4 to accommodate overflow patients awaiting room assignments.
Candidates must have experience managing a patient ratio of 1:2.
Experience with abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and centralized line care management is preferred.
This role requires skills in airway assessment, monitoring vital signs, and medication administration.
The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in performing discharge instructions and medication reconciliation.
The unit handles a diverse patient age group including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Candidates must have a current NURSYS report.
Resources previously employed or contracted with the organization must have a one-year separation before reapplying.
