Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our modern rehabilitation facility in Tallahassee, Florida, where you will work within a supportive team. You will engage directly with patients in a welcoming environment designed to promote healing and recovery. The working hours for this role are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. As a full-time employee, you will promptly integrate into a cohesive team dedicated to enhancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to observe their movements and behaviors, identifying individual needs related to orthopedic conditions.
• Develop comprehensive, personalized treatment plans that address the specific needs and goals of each patient.
• Implement therapeutic exercise regimes and educate patients on the proper use of these techniques to ensure recovery without further injury.
• Utilize hands-on therapy methodologies including manual therapy and modalities to promote healing and improve mobility.
• Guide patients in the use of rehabilitation equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers, to enhance their independence.
• Maintain accurate patient records, tracking progress and modifying treatment plans based on effectiveness.
• Advise patients and their families on effective in-home exercises and treatment options to support ongoing recovery.
• Diagnose movement dysfunctions and develop treatment strategies that could include referrals to specialists when necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal disorders. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient demographic, from young athletes to older adults needing rehabilitation for hip or knee replacements. This variety will allow you to tailor your approach to meet the specific recovery needs of each individual.

Qualifications

• An active Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree preferred.
• Strong foundation in orthopedic physical therapy practices and treatment options.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to engage in careful observation, assessing patients' needs and responses to treatment actively.
• Capability to manage a diverse patient population with varying personalities and needs.
• Up-to-date knowledge of treatment methodologies and an eagerness for continuous learning.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is preferred.
• Experience utilizing modalities and therapy techniques specifically geared towards orthopedic recovery.
• Familiarity with patient management software and electronic health record systems.

Compensation and Benefits
