Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown Unit

Location: Marquette, Michigan

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit, focusing on telemetry monitoring and the management of patients with cardiac-related conditions. The nurse will be responsible for patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients in a stepdown care setting.
• Manage telemetry monitoring and administer cardiac drips as necessary.
• Provide care for patients pre and post cardiac procedures, including open-heart surgery.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active RN license in the state of Michigan.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar stepdown environment.
• Experience with chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and low-level ICU skills preferred.
