Registered Veterinary Technician

First Capitol Animal Hospita l is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. Responsibilities include: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assisting in surgery Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and compensation: Compensation: $22- $26 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and 1-2 Saturdays per month Full-time Benefits Package**: CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k options Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 3+ years of veterinary technician experience Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Missouri ** Proficiency in the following skills: Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement Radiology positioning and safety protocols Medication administration and accurate drug calculations Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing Accurate medical record documentation Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques Client education and communication Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong critical thinking and attention to detail Effective teamwork and professional communication skills Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning **Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply First Capitol Animal Hospital , located in St. Charles, Missouri, is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care for pets in a modern and welcoming environment. $22 - $26 USD

This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
