Position Summary:

The General Superintendent is responsible for leading all field construction activities for a utility-scale solar project site, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution. This role provides direct oversight of craft labor and subcontractors, drives daily production planning, and serves as the primary field liaison between construction leadership, project controls, and the Owner’s representatives. The General Superintendent reports directly to the Construction Manager and plays a critical role in aligning field execution with project schedule, compliance requirements, and overall project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all field personnel, including craft labor and subcontractors, to ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project quality standards

Lead and manage daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings with craft superintendents and subcontractor leadership to coordinate site activities

Monitor and drive daily production performance to meet schedule milestones and project deliverables

Ensure all crafts meet daily IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) compliance requirements, including tracking and adherence to labor hour targets and reporting expectations

Maintain regular engagement with Owner representatives, including participation in Owner-led meetings and daily coordination activities

Collaborate closely with Project Controls to ensure POD updates, progress tracking, and field data are accurately communicated and aligned with project reporting

Partner with the Construction Manager to proactively address field challenges, resource needs, and schedule impacts

Utilize Procore for field reporting, documentation, and coordination; ensure accurate and timely input of field data

Enforce safety policies and procedures in alignment with company and project requirements

Maintain a high level of organization to effectively manage site operations and communication across all stakeholders

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a General Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on utility-scale solar EPC projects

Strong background managing craft labor and subcontractors on large-scale construction sites

Demonstrated experience leading daily planning efforts (POD or equivalent production planning processes)

Working knowledge of IRA compliance requirements as they relate to labor tracking and reporting on renewable energy projects

Experience interfacing directly with Owners and Owner’s Representatives in a construction environment

Proficiency in Procore or similar construction management platforms

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to coordinate effectively with Project Controls, Construction Management, and field leadership

Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field execution for solar projects (civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes)

Work Environment:

Primarily based on an active solar project site.

Work is performed in a project trailer environment with frequent interaction in the field

Regular exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and uneven terrain

May require occasional travel depending on project needs

Physical Demands:

Ability to walk the project site as needed and access various work areas

Ability to operate within a construction environment while adhering to all safety requirements and PPE standards

Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs may be required
