Qualifications:

• Two years of college credit through an accredited institution, an associate’s degree or higher, or successful completion of an approved formal academic assessment (such as the ParaPro, ParaPathways, or The Master Teacher), or documented competencies per the MDE approved grid
• PCA certificate (or willingness to obtain; the process is free and takes less than an hour)
• At least 1 year of professional experience working with school-aged children
• School-based paraprofessional experience of 2+ years preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated support to students in a high-needs classroom, collaborating with teachers and special education staff
• Implement daily routines that help meet Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals and classroom objectives
• Support students in developing academic, social, and behavioral skills
• Adapt instructional strategies under teacher guidance to meet student needs
• Assist with classroom management, behavior intervention, and engaging activities
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners
