Retail Team Leader

Job Overview Retail Team Leader (Key Holder) Pay: $18+/hour starting wage (based on experience) Location: 1500 N Burkhardt, Evansville, IN 47715 Store Hours: Monday–Saturday 7 AM–7 PM; Sunday 9 AM–6 PM Key Responsibilities Opening and closing the store Completing daily store operations and tasks Assisting in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing merchandise, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store Maintaining merchandise: product rotation, proper food handling, receiving, ensuring product quality Providing exceptional customer service, building relationships, problem‑solving, and building sales Cash handling: bank deposits, getting change for cashiers, setting and counting registers Helping build and train the team, developing leadership skills while supervising sales associates Requirements 1–2 years of retail experience with progressively increasing responsibility Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and lift above shoulder height frequently Availability to work a flexible, full‑time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to safely operate power equipment such as slicing equipment, walkie lifts, and forklifts where applicable Ability to occasionally respond to alarm calls during non‑working hours and flexibility to work shifts at other stores in local area Minimum age 18 years (required) High School Diploma or equivalent Successful completion of pre‑employment checks including a drug screen and criminal background check Basic computer skills required Benefits Healthcare benefits available on the first day Immediate retirement savings: 401(k) plan with company match, no waiting period Company profit‑sharing after 90 days of employment Holidays off: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Easter; stores closed on these days Advancement opportunities – leaders often start as sales associates Work/life balance with a great retail schedule Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Equal Employment Opportunity is a matter of policy at Gordon Food Service, Inc. and we are committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
