Security Officer Access Control Representative

As a Security Officer Access Control Representative in Durham, NC, you will monitor entry points, verify badges and visitor access, and support security‑related operations with professionalism and care. You may conduct routine patrols, remain visible to deter incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Position type: Part time Pay rate: $18.00 / Hour Job schedule Saturday: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM Sunday: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out access control procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at the location. Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorisation, and help deter unauthorised access through consistent access control practices. Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and communicate relevant details to property management and/or emergency personnel as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building or lobby areas, parking areas and perimeter to observe and report security‑related concerns and unusual activity. Maintain accurate visitor logs, badge activity records and incident documentation while following post instructions and client‑facing service standards. Minimum Requirements Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred). Access control and badge experience (preferred). Customer service experience (preferred). Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
