Drug Manufacturing Technician

Job Description The Drug Manufacturing Technician plays a crucial role in managing and preparing samples in compliance with SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other regulatory standards. This individual is responsible for handling presumptive positive samples, aliquoting them accurately for confirmation, and ensuring proper storage and documentation. Reporting to the Lab Manager, the technician works within a climate-controlled laboratory, adhering strictly to security and safety protocols to maintain confidentiality and sample integrity. Responsibilities Remove presumptive positive samples and aliquot for confirmation Arrange aliquots in proper order and store positive samples in refrigerator/freezer Retrieve positive samples from freezer for re-aliquoting as needed Receive and open specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis Review and document specimen acceptability and chain of custody Destroy specimens according to protocol when necessary Clean and maintain work area daily to ensure safety and compliance Adhere to all security procedures to protect donor confidentiality Comply with company policies and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications High school education or GED preferred Basic computer skills and ability to understand laboratory techniques and procedures Advanced understanding of certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and related computer systems Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and perform full body movementCorrected vision and hearing meeting minimum standards Ability to read and comprehend SOPs, Federal (49 CFR Part 40), and CAP-FUDT guidelines Effective communication skills with team members and supervisors Preferred Qualifications Entry-level experience in laboratory operations Knowledge of laboratory techniques, sample aliquoting, and specimen handling High school diploma or GED Company Description ATR International is a staffing and workforce solutions firm providing high‑quality talent across a wide range of industries, including technology, operations, and professional services. #J-18808-Ljbffr
