Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity ICU Stepdown Unit position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a high acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU)
• PM shift schedule from 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts
• Every 3rd weekend required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating required as needed, including to a sister hospital nearby
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver direct patient care with strong clinical skills including emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient progress
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and use of two patient identifiers
• Demonstrate safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment and education
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Coverage required for one winter and one summer holiday
