Ultrasound Technologist

Job Description We’re looking for an Ultrasound Technician to provide excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician to identify abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. Shift Details Full-time (40 hours); Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Location Platte Valley Hospital – Brighton, Colorado Essentials Perform examinations per department protocol and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy. Maintain ARDMS certification and modality‑specific competency. Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepare the patient for the exam. Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. Assist and instruct students and other radiology techs in exam protocols, positioning, and equipment. Provide appropriate patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns. Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques. Operate equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images. Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and adverse reactions. Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures. Health Services BCLS – Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of experience. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Verbal communication and rapid understanding during emergency situations. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment and frequent computer use for documentation. Ability to lift, transfer, bend, and carry supplies and equipment with weights up to and including heavy items. Ability to walk, assist with patient transport, and navigate crowded rooms.
