Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (07:30 - 20:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid State License required Certifications: BLS, CNOR preferred, CST preferred Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience in trauma level I and level II settings - Travel experience required - Proficiency in the majority of specified skills Description: The position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse. The staffing ratios are 9 rooms. The traveler will not float between different units. On-call requirements include 2 night calls and 3 weekend calls per month. Night calls during the week are from 11 PM to 7 AM. Weekend call shifts may include 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM, or 11 PM to 7 AM. This position does not accommodate block schedules. The facility is a trauma level I teaching hospital. It has a total of 228 staffed beds. Scrubs will be provided. Charting is done using a specific system. Interpretation services and unit secretaries are available for interdisciplinary support. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 25 patients. The unit supports a variety of special procedures including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurological surgery, and robotic surgery. Candidates should have experience in most listed procedures, although training will be provided as needed.
