Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming classroom setting onsite near New London, CT. In this full-time contract position, you will work closely with a dynamic group of 10 students in grades 3 through 5, fostering growth and making a lifelong difference from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm each school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience in elementary education, ideally grades 3–5
• Proven ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills
• Background in adapting curricula and instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs
• Committed to cultivating a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s unique requirements
• Deliver engaging academic and social–emotional instruction to a small class
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to reinforce student success
• Foster a supportive and structured environment that nurtures self-esteem and independence
• Track progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with stakeholders
• Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and ongoing professional development
