Phlebotomist PositionFull Time | 40 Hours/week including some Saturday hours on a rotation | 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 12:00pm when working on Saturdays. ASCP certification desirable.Previous phlebotomy experience in healthcare setting preferred but not requiredBLS certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)Responsibilities:Uses appropriate techniques and procedures to obtain blood samples by venipuncture and skin puncture. Instruct patients on proper collection procedures for urine collection, stool collection, and other miscellaneous collectionsCorrectly labels all specimens and checks for qualityAssumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of patientsMaintains laboratory operating proceduresOrders and distributes supplies as needed along with notifying appropriate individual when supplies are lowAlso performs receptionist duties at the front desk of the outpatient labWhy Hillsdale Hospital:Hillsdale Hospital is dedicated to excellence in healthcare community service, continued improvement, and respect for human life.
