The successful candidate will join a well-established, high functioning interdisciplinary team which includes four physicians, four nurse practitioners, nurses and clinical therapists who work in close collaboration with spiritual care and child life teams.We are a consultative service within a large pediatric healthcare system, including a 477-bed tertiary care pediatric hospital with an average daily inpatient census of 20-30 patients. We also regularly see patients for new consults or follow-up visits on an outpatient basis in our own in-person clinic or via our virtual home-based telemedicine program. Call responsibility will be 1:5. The team sees patients of all ages and all stages of disease. We follow patients with a diverse variety of medical conditions. There are opportunities to work with home-based hospice services if desired.Good communication and collaboration skills and flexibility are desired qualities. Teaching, committee, and research opportunities are available to those who are interested.**Qualifications**:* Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.* Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must obtain prior to start date).* Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for pediatrics.* Board certified/board eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.* American Heart Association BLS and PALS.* DEA Registration#CCPN #LI-RV1**About Us:**Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS) is one of the country's leading vertically integrated pediatric health care organizations.
