Role Description The Instructor is a full-time, on-site role located in Columbus, GA, responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with Columbus Technical College’s curriculum and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and teaching courses, developing lesson plans and assessments, and maintaining accurate student records and grades. The Instructor provides academic support and guidance, holds office hours, and supports student success through tutoring, advising, and mentorship. Additional duties include collaborating with colleagues and division leadership, participating in program and curriculum development, engaging in professional development, and contributing to committees and campus initiatives that support the college’s mission and community relationships. Qualifications Ability to design and deliver clear, engaging instruction, including creating lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with course outcomes. Strong classroom management, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to support an inclusive, respectful, and effective learning environment. Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems, and comfort using digital tools for teaching, communication, and grading. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and community partners, and for providing constructive feedback. Commitment to student success, including advising, mentoring, and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds and with varied educational needs. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work within academic teams, participate in committees, and contribute to curriculum and program improvement. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degree and/or relevant industry certifications or licensure preferred, depending on discipline. Demonstrated professional experience in the relevant subject area; experience teaching in a technical or community college setting is a plus.
