POSITION OVERVIEW
LUKE Staffing is seeking a Radiographic Technologist to support diagnostic imaging services at Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor, WA (NHCOH) under Task Order HT941025FE051. This dual-qualified position performs both general radiologic procedures and mammography, operating under the supervision of the Radiology Department and MTF leadership. The role requires ARRT certification in both Radiography (R) and Mammography (M), and the candidate must meet all Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and FDA requirements. This is a personal services arrangement.
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS
Education: Certificate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
Certification / Board Certification: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) is required. Current ARRT certification in Mammography (M) is required.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist, including experience in mammography, within the last two (2) years.
Basic Life Support (BLS): Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Licensure / DEA: No state licensure or DEA registration required. Full credentialing package required prior to start, including MQSA documentation.
DUTIES
Mammography-Specific Duties:
Perform and execute all required tasks to maintain American College of Radiology (ACR), Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), and FDA accreditations.
Be prepared to walk through the mammography program during scheduled ACR/FDA inspections and demonstrate compliance with all applicable standards.
Maintain all personal MQSA qualification documentation; ensure records are current and available for inspection at all times.
General Duties:
Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures/services as appropriate to the TO Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.
Practice aseptic technique and comply with infection control guidelines, including universal precautions and proper disposal of infectious waste.
Maintain patient safety awareness and apply established safety procedures throughout all imaging procedures.
Participate in peer review, Performance Improvement (PI), and Risk Management (RM) activities as directed.
Complete all annual training requirements including fire safety, infection control, family advocacy, CBRNE, and DHA-required online trainings.
Operate automated systems including MHS GENESIS and ADS; maintain DOD email and respond promptly to communications.
Perform timely, accurate, and legible documentation of all procedures in accordance with clinic directives.
Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients throughout examination procedures. Document all procedures and maintain accurate records in MHS GENESIS and other applicable systems in accordance with MTF policy.
Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks per manufacturer specifications and MTF policy; recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel.
Initiate repair procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated Government personnel and recording problems in the trouble call log.
Observe and report to the radiologist any patient symptoms related to adverse reactions to contrast media; recognize and institute emergency measures for cardiac or respiratory arrest.
Adhere to all radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology Department standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
This is a personal services arrangement; contract workers are treated as government employees with government scheduling and oversight. Position is emergency/mission essential. Must complete 40 hours MTF orientation and 16 hours MHS Genesis information systems training. Planned absences require 30 days advance notice to Government Supervisor. Clinical competency within past 2 years required. Credentialing package due 45 calendar days before start date. Contractor provides uniforms at no cost to Government.
