Women's Hope Residential Program

HealthRIGHT 360 gives hope, builds health, and changes lives for people in need by providing comprehensive, integrated, compassionate care that includes primary medical care, mental health services, and substance use disorder treatment.

This Women's HOPE residential program offers specialized care to the underserved female population of San Francisco, including low-income African American and Latina women and their families/children, with a special focus on pregnant and parenting women with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders. The program is gender-responsive and trauma informed, addressing substance use, trauma, mental illness, health and wellness, family reunification, parenting education, employability, homelessness, and sober living skills. The team of providers at Women's HOPE includes parenting counselors, therapists, and SUD counselors who provide wrap around services to support and empower our participants as they reach toward their goals.

Client Safety Navigators (CSNs) are responsible for maintaining and assessing the safety and security of the program and its residents while providing a supportive treatment environment. Through effective communication, CSNs relay relevant information to other members of the interdisciplinary team and perform crisis intervention as needed. CSNs ensure that the treatment environment is safe and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs house runs to ensure and maintain accountability of all clients and the safety and security of the facility.
• Performs crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise.
• Documents client updates and incidents in the facility log daily.
• Performs CPR and First Aid as needed. May work weekends and holidays as needed.
• When assigned the DOT, documents, and accurately distributes client money, ensures client medications is securely stored and properly accounted for and holds facility keys and floater cellular phones.
• As needed, transports clients in company vehicle to offsite appointments related to their treatment. Attends required trainings and meetings.
• Stationed at the front desk and controls the entrance.
• Welcome and assist clients when returning from appointments, ensuring that clients sign in and check any bags for contraband.
• Welcome visitors, check visitors' credentials, ensure visitors sign in and escort them to the supervisor on duty.
• Ensure and maintain a safe and orderly environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
• Direct and deflect traffic; de-escalate tense, high pressure, and emotionally charged situations; and foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
• Maintain positive, respectful, non- confrontational behaviors at all times, even when observing, receiving, or de-escalating disrespectful or disorderly behaviors.
• Make regular rounds to monitor entrances, exits, offices, common areas, and building perimeter.
• Ensure a welcoming environment by clearing areas of crowds, debris, and out-of-place items. Work collaboratively with service providers and administrative staff to maintain an orderly environment.
• Maintain client sign in/out log, visitors sign-in/out logs. File incident reports as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
• First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
• A valid California driver's license.
• Experience working with the criminal justice population preferred.
• Registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS preferred.
• Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.
• Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook, and internet applications.
• Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
• Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed treatment preferred.
• Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.) preferred.
