Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Caregiver

If you are interested in applying for the Early Head Start classroom paraprofessional (caregiver) position, you must submit a letter of interest by May 1, 2026. Effective date of employment is anticipated to be July 1, 2026.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood/Child Development from an accredited college preferred.
• Diploma in Child Development or Early Childhood or related field required.
• A minimum of an Early Childhood Care and Education Basic TCC or comparable credential.
• Paraprofessional license requirement: Hold an associate's degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution; OR have completed 2 years (60 semester hours or 100 quarter hours) of college coursework above the remedial level at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution with a grade of "C" or better; OR hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Experience working with infants and toddlers.
• Ability to work with infants, toddlers, and at-risk families.
• Sound moral character, high ethical standards, and good health.

Salary: Determined by training and experience.

Reports to: Early Head Start Director.

• Qualified applicants will be interviewed by a selection committee established by the Early Head Start Policy Council.
• Early Head Start Director will make the final recommendation to the Early Head Start Policy Council and the Emanuel County Board of Education.
