Account Manager – Automotive Logistics & Transportation

Location: Plymouth, MI
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Compensation: $70,000–$90,000 annually (estimated range, pending confirmation)

• Build Lasting Relationships: Manage key customer accounts, develop strong partnerships, and ensure customers receive exceptional service.

• Drive Business Growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts, increase revenue, and improve overall profitability.

• Be the Problem Solver: Work closely with customers, transportation partners, and internal departments to resolve challenges and keep operations running smoothly.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with operations, pricing, customer service, and leadership to develop solutions that meet customer needs.

• Manage Pricing Opportunities: Coordinate customer quotes, bids, and special transportation requests while balancing competitive pricing and profitability.

• Track Performance: Monitor customer KPIs, service levels, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Lead Customer Meetings: Conduct regular account reviews, present business updates, and help customers plan for future success.

• Keep Things Moving: Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to address transportation delays, inventory concerns, and service expectations.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and thrives in an environment where no two days are exactly alike.

Ideal qualifications include:

• Previous experience in account management, customer relationship management, or a similar customer-facing role.

• Experience in transportation, logistics, automotive, or carrier management is highly preferred.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.

• A proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Experience with Salesforce, transportation management systems, or dispatching software is a plus.

• A college degree or approximately five years of relevant customer service experience is preferred.

• Experience working with automotive manufacturers, dealerships, auctions, or vehicle transportation networks is a plus.
