The Apigee Lead is a senior technical expert responsible for designing, developing, and managing API proxies and security policies within the Google Apigee Edge/X platform. This role oversees the full API lifecycle, including security (OAuth 2.0, TLS), performance tuning, and CI/CD automation. The Apigee Lead often guides teams to deliver scalable, secure integration solutions across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• API Architecture Design: Create robust, reusable API proxies, shared flows, and policies using Apigee.
• Security Compliance: Implement security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and mTLS to protect APIs.
• Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of Apigee Edge, Hybrid, and X, including traffic management, analytics, and monetization.
• Automation & DevOps: Build CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automated API deployment and management.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor developers, ensure adherence to coding standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshooting: Monitor and optimize API performance, address technical debt, and resolve complex runtime issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in API management (typically 10+ years for senior roles).
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, Node.js, and API specifications like Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes) and cloud-native deployments.
• Strong knowledge of API security standards and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and deliver enterprise-scale API solutions.

Desirable Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Apigee monetization and analytics.
• Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience in enterprise integration patterns and best practices.

Experience Required:

10+ years in API Management, Integration, and DevOps automation
