About the Role Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Drilling Engineer to join their esteemed operations based in George. This role is crucial for planning, executing, and optimizing all drilling operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be instrumental in managing drilling projects from inception to completion, collaborating closely with field teams and technical specialists. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed drilling programs, including well design, casing schemes, mud programs, and cementing strategies. Oversee the execution of drilling operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Manage drilling contracts, equipment, and service providers to optimize operational efficiency and cost control. Conduct post-well analysis to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future drilling campaigns. Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during drilling operations, providing timely solutions. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to field personnel, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in drilling engineering, with a strong track record in the Oil & Gas sector. In-depth knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and associated risks. Familiarity with drilling simulation software and well planning tools. Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and personnel effectively.
