Join a growing team at Chenango County Behavioral Health Services, the primary provider of outpatient mental health and substance use treatment in the area. We’re seeking compassionate, motivated full-time therapists eager to build and expand their clinical skills.

Qualifications:

1. Possession of one of the following: current New York State License as a Master of Social Work, Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Creative Arts Therapist, or Psychoanalyst; OR
2. Possession of a provisional license as a Mental Health Counselor; OR
3. Possession of a limited permit to practice licensed master social work and use the title licensed master social worker.

Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at You must pay the required evaluation fee.

Position status : Non-Competitive HELP Program.

Responsibilities:

• Psychosocial & substance use assessments
• Individual, family, and group therapy
• Treatment planning, crisis assessment
• Advocacy, and referrals to local providers

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, candidates/incumbents will be required to possess a valid New York State Driver's License, a reliable vehicle, and a driving record acceptable to the County's insurance carrier.

2. At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, candidates/incumbents must maintain an appropriate provisional license, limited permit, or permanent license throughout the duration of employment.

3. At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, candidates/incumbents must not be named on the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of Inspector General, List of Exclusions and/or the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General Medicaid Terminations or Exclusions List
