How youll contribute

AClinical Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role:

• Perform phlebotomy duties as required to include venipuncture and capillary techniques using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves tourniquets syringes and butterfly needles.

• Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.

• Transcribe physician orders

• Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens.

• Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records explain procedures allay fears and elicit cooperation.

• Process label and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis.

• Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.

What were looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma.

Additional requirements include:

• 2 years of college or an associates degree preferred

• 3 years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical hospital or lab setting. Prefer prior waived testing experience.

• Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Hourly Range: $17.67-$21.83 per hour
