• Saturday & Sunday: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

• Monday & Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  Relocation Assistance: $10,000 (available for qualified candidates)

Salary -$54,300-$83,300

About the Role

Located in the heart of the  Texas Medical Center ,  the client offers an exciting opportunity to join its  Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) Operating Room team .
This position is responsible for providing skilled  perioperative patient care through the proper use of surgical equipment and instrumentation. The Certified Surgical Technologist functions as a  scrub assistant to the surgeon, ensuring safe, efficient, and sterile operative procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited  Surgical Technologist Program

Licenses/Certifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)– National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)  or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)– American Heart Association

Experience:

• 2+ years of CV (open heart) experience preferred

• New Graduate: <1 year

• Surg Tech I: 1 year

• Surg Tech II: 2–4 years

• Surg Tech III: 5+ years

Key Responsibilities

• Perform as  first scrub in assigned surgical specialty areas.

• Prepare and verify availability of  supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to surgical procedures.

• Apply principles of  aseptic technique and maintain a sterile field.

• Support  case readiness and room turnover to maintain OR efficiency.

• Provide safe, high-quality care to patients while ensuring compliance with all  Memorial Hermann policies and standards.

• Serve as a  preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

• Participate in ongoing professional growth, mandatory education, and skill competency programs.

• Demonstrate Memorial Hermann’s  service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences for patients and colleagues.
