SAW OPERATOR

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1st shift position available in our Sawing Department as a Production saw operator. We have positions open for a saw operator. As a saw operator your job responsibilities will include but not be limited to; operator forklift to retrieve material from rack, place material on the saw table, program saw to cut material down to customer specifications, use caliper and tape measure to ensure material is being cut the correct specifications, change saw blades as needed, and perform maintenance on band-saws. To be considered for employment, candidates need the following: Previous experience operating a band-saw or similar type equipment preferred Forklift experience Able to lift 50# Accurately measure using a tape measure. (There is a written test you must pass) Pass a pre-employment drug screen Mechanically inclined Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools. Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies. Clean and lubricate machines. Clean work area. Operate forklifts to deliver materials. Place workpieces on cutting tables, manually or using hoists, cranes, or sledges.
