Responsibilities

• Draw blood specimens from patients across diverse age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols and procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during specimen collection, explaining procedures clearly and creating a reassuring environment.
• Verify patient demographic information and proper labeling of specimens to maintain accurate records and ensure specimen integrity.
• Prepare collected specimens for lab testing, maintaining proper handling and documentation per protocols.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment, adhering to all safety policies and practices.
• Accurately record and document all relevant information related to specimen collection and patient interactions.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and ensure high-quality patient care.
• Flexibly support multiple locations and work schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Required Skills

• Proven phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently in a high-volume environment.
• Strong communication skills to explain procedures and foster trust with patients.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities for proper documentation.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Customer service focus with a professional, friendly demeanor.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and confidentiality.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections, is required.
• Minimum of two years' experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license if applicable.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
