CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Set up and operate CNC lathe equipment as directed
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards
- Inspect materials and finished parts in accordance with company quality standards
- Use basic hand tools and precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Input data into ERP system (SAP Business One)
- Troubleshoot minor machining and tooling issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with all safety regulations
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist or CNC Lathe Operator
- Minimum 2 years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience
- Experience with tight tolerance machining preferred
- CAD/CAM experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling
- Familiarity with precision measuring devices and inspection techniques
- Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
- ISO 9001 experience or quality certifications are a plus
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Responsible, dependable, and trustworthy
- Energetic team player with a positive attitude
- Good vision and attention to detail required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus
