Location 409 17th AVENUE,Two Harbors, MN, 55616,United States Base Pay $20.00 - $25.00 / Hour Employee Type Full Time Non-Exempt Description Zito is looking for a full-time Fiber Technician to learn the trade of installing fiber optic cables within Zito Media’s fiber optic networks and their related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency. Preferred Skills Basic Knowledge or willingness to learn premise entry and electronic equipment installation. Basic Knowledge or willingness to learn the technologies and standards as they apply to the installation of fiber optic networks. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff. Ability to work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals, able to apply technical expertise to a variety of situations, evaluating problems and implementing the best solutions. Work well under pressure and deadline environments. Friendly, patient, basic courtesy, diplomatic abilities and a pleasant demeanor. Basic computer troubleshooting to include email and MS Office. Prior experience in a service environment preferred. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid state driver’s license along with an excellent driving record. Available for on-call and after-hours call out. Safely be able to climb a ladder multiple times throughout the day. The company’s ladders are typically rated at 250lbs maximum capacity, unless a reasonable accommodation for a higher weight capacity is requested and required. Ability to climb, carry, set-up, and extend ladders, weighing up to 100lbs, multiple times daily Confidence working in/on buckets, ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 40 feet. Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Use the standard tools of the trade (screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, strippers, crimpers, hammers, etc.) to route cable, connect cable and install electronic equipment. Able to work a variety of schedules in order to provide needed coverage, for both normal duty and on-call duty. Sufficient visual and aural acuity to operate a variety of standard test and measurement equipment. Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident up to and including travel to other systems if needed.
