Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide professional nursing care to patients in labor and delivery settings, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive birth outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare teams to support maternal and neonatal health throughout the perinatal period.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' conditions and monitor labor progress to identify any complications.
• Deliver direct patient care, including administering medications and assisting with delivery procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth processes, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Follow established safety protocols, including universal precautions and patient identification procedures.
• Contribute to a team environment by prioritizing patient needs and responding to changes in condition.

Qualifications:

• Possess and maintain an active RN license.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Demonstrate competency in assessment, clinical skills, and emergency procedures including ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Have experience or training specific to labor and delivery nursing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
