Design Engineer I

Position Summary We are seeking a Design Engineer I at our St. Charles, MO – Corporate location. The Design Engineer I will work under the supervision of a project manager, engineering manager, supervisor, or lead designer and will provide design support for specifically defined portions of a larger project. The engineer will work both independently and as a member of the larger engineering team to develop aircraft structural layouts and design individual components, assemblies, and installations. Essential Job Responsibilities Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodologies, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables. Focuses on existing products and processes and researches and develops limited structural engineering layouts. Creates conceptual layouts and designs of components, assemblies, and installations. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the specified engineering field. Has basic to intermediate knowledge of CATIA V5 engineering design software. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Provides creativity and latitude when necessary and performs other duties as required. Education & Experience Requires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and a minimum of 0‑4 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or a related field. Working knowledge of CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or other 3D design software is preferred, as well as basic knowledge of MS Office products.
