About This Role The Staff Nurse in the Operating Room at Mount Sinai Morningside is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Highlights Pay: $64.2353/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai Morningside Department/Unit: Operating Room Suite - STL Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift (1pm - 11pm) What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure that patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharge consistent with the patient's status and facilitate inter-departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Assign patient care reflecting awareness of patient needs and personnel skill levels. Organize care provision to meet priority needs of patients and the unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN program. Experience: Relevant clinical competence in assigned nursing practice; circulating experience in an Operating Room or completion of a Periop 101 program preferred. Licenses & Certifications: Current RN License in New York State. BLS/BCLS certification required. CNOR highly preferred.
